Erica Bury is a celebrated choreographer and director known for crafting powerful, story-driven work featured in musical theatres, studios, and dance companies for more than three decades.
As the founding Artistic Director and Chief Choreographer of Oregon Youth Ballet, Erica oversees the artistic vision of the organization, teaches and mentors young dancers, and creates original full-length ballets, as well as coaching pre-professional students for the Youth America Grand Prix, emphasizing both technical excellence and artistic authenticity.

About Erica
Erica’s professional experience spans an extensive list of studios, theatres, and companies. Her recent collaborations include One Eleven Theatre, Clarion Theatre, Barnstormers Theatre, Fusion Dance, All That Jazz Dance, Steps on Broadway, San Francisco Ballet School, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Miss Diana’s School of Ballet, BodyVox, GP Theatre Department, Stillpoint Ballet, Heartland Dance, and the Pacific Northwest Ballet Teacher’s Seminar.
Erica began choreographing as a young dancer. She received her early training at Huntsville Ballet Company in Alabama under Dawn Crouch and continued her primary education in Oregon with Sylvia Bolton, Penny King, and Nancy Gordon. She further trained and performed with Boston Ballet School, Ballet Magnificat, and State Ballet of Oregon, as well as with numerous regional musical theatre and dance companies.
She is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 7 & Partnering of the ABT National Training Curriculum.
ABT’s National Training Curriculum is a breakthrough program that combines high quality artistic training with the pillars of dancer health and child development. The program provides teachers with the information needed to fully understand the best practices in pedagogy, child development, dance psychology, and anatomy. Ballet teachers receive a holistic education on the National Training Curriculum and the best practices in how to teach ballet.
Erica is also a certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon.

Drawing on her extensive background as a teacher, she strives to bring out the unique strengths and expressive qualities of every dancer she coaches. Whether creating original ballets, crafting contemporary work, or directing and choreographing musicals, she is committed to fostering both technical mastery and a deep joy for dance.
