Dancin' at Disney
Our Disney Dance Tour included 31 dancers, 8 BIG musical theatre and contemporary dance routines, with music ranging the Broadway gamut from Thoroughly Modern Millie to Mean Girls. The experienced included several preview shows in Oregon before traveling to Disneyland for workshops at the Imagination Campus and the fantastic culminating performance on the Backlot Stage! This was an absolute BLAST to choreograph, and such a fun challenge to have 3 colors of costumes as a “creative constraint”! (February 2022)

Youth America Grand Prix 2023
For the student with the right mindset who is ready for a challenge and to take their training seriously, the experience of preparing for Youth America Grand Prix can be invaluable. It allows them to grow in ways that are hard to replicate in other scenarios, unless they attend a pre-pro school and have other opportunities.
The hours spent carefully refining classical variations, and the even more time pushing themselves physically and mentally in new directions for the contemporary piece are truly a major reward in themselves.
I have many beautiful memories from our Seattle and San Francisco trips this year, and we have already begun thinking about next season!
Mental Health and the Beauty of Dance Communities — You Are Not Alone
I choreographed this to honor a graduating high school senior at the studio in June 2022. This song resonated with me strongly because there is so much angst, uncertainty, and struggle among teenagers right now, but healthy, compassionate dance studios can be a place of safety and friendship. This song and its message embody the real-life relationships of the girls I choreographed on. Before the first rehearsal some of the dancers needed to just listen and cry before they were ready to get to work.

Shrek The Musical
Shrek The Musical was shut down twice (!) due to the pandemic, but we finally had such a fun run in March of 2022. Choreo for this started running through my brain in 2019 and after three different cast shifts for the dances over the course of two years, including changing heights, numbers, and skill level of the dancers, I was beyond happy to see version 3.0 come to life on the stage!!
